how The holistic process works
Your questions, answered
what makes the holistic process different?
The Holistic Process is a unique combination of powerful things - so it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or confused about what exactly it’s all about. That’s why our founder, Marie, has sat down to answer all of the common questions that come up around embodiment, somatics, holistic coaching and everything in between. If there’s a question you have that isn’t answered here, we would love to answer it - drop us a line and let us know.

For group programmes to be impactful, we recommend keeping groups to a maximum of 10 participants. This means everyone gets sufficient 1:1 attention and makes group sessions as impactful as possible.
-
The Holistic Leader is designed for leaders - but for individuals, we’ve developed The Holistic Self! You don’t have to be a leader to benefit from learning tools and techniques to connect with your body and self - The Holistic Self programme offers you a number of pick-and-mix options, all based on our core Holistic Process, so that you can build a programme that’s right for you.

In our (humble) opinion, The Holistic Process is more impactful than traditional leadership development coaching - simply because most leadership development programmes ignore the fact that all participants are people and all people exist in human bodies.
For us, that’s the core piece of the jigsaw puzzle and when we bring that understanding into traditional coaching contexts, that’s when the light bulb moments start happening!

Yes! The whole point of The Holistic Process is to support you in developing your own holistic process.
With that in mind, The Holistic Self programme offers bite-sized options - including information sessions, shorter coaching interventions and creative classes.

It’s led by me (Marie), but with support from a number of trusted experts. One of the most important things for me is that you get the very best experience in every part - so in those areas where I’m not an expert, I bring in other people to run sessions so that you get the best quality in every area.

‘Embodiment’ is, let’s be honest, a bit of a buzzword recently. But at its core, it’s similar to mindfulness - it’s all about being present.
Simply put, it’s about being in our bodies, listening to them, connecting with them and remembering that our minds and bodies are not separate but connected in important ways.
Embodiment is about tuning into and listening to the inner wisdom our bodies share with us.
Our bodies are very much a part of who we are and, by connecting with them, we can return to ourselves.
-
Yes! Somatic coaching does work - and the reason it works so well is because it engages in new practices. Somatic coaching encourages you to be open to new ways of being, and new ways of being almost always lead to new ways of thinking.
Working in this way helps to significantly reduce stress and boost productivity, build confidence, enhance self-awareness and integrate self-acceptance.
It’s a holistic process (hence the name), and therefore we continuously learn on the somatic journey. Equally, we continuously practice and through our practices we embody new ways of being.

Definitely science!
Embodiment and somatics are entirely rooted in neuroscience and our understanding of the nervous system. Science tells us that our body and mind are intricately connected, and while not every element of that connection is fully understood, there’s a huge amount of evidence that the connection exists and underpins the ways in which we experience the world, how we relate to others, and how we connect with ourselves.
Our nervous system is an incredibly complex thing and it works in conjunction with our brain in so many ways. Most functions of our brain and nervous system happen below the level of our consciousness - which means that much of our own lived experience isn’t consciously interpreted by our brain.
The goal of somatics is to restore that connection through practice. By learning with and through the body, we’re able to create foundations for sustainable change. We’re able to embody the impact we want to have in the world, rather than going through the motions without really feeling it in our bodies.
-
The objective of embodiment coaching is to get you more connected to your body.
Our bodies keep the score, often hold the answers, and definitely influence our experiences and effectiveness both as people and leaders in organisations.
The problem is that most of us have switched off from our bodies. We ignore them and disconnect from them - and the reasons why we do that are plentiful, and something that embodiment coaching explores.
Through embodiment coaching, we discover the root cause of our disconnection and help to gently restore that connection in order to live life in a more embodied and full way.
